National Conference on JUNAGADH CHALLENGES & PROSPECTS

MUSLIM Institute organized a National Conference on “Junagadh: Challenges & Prospects” on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at the National Library of Pakistan, Islamabad. The conference consisted of six sessions, four academic sessions, an inaugural session, and a concluding session. Sahibzada Muhammad Mehboob Sultan (Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions) was the chief guest of the concluding session. Sahibzada Sultan Ahmed Ali (Dewan of Junagadh State & Chairman MUSLIM Institute) presented the conference resolution. Ambassadors, Historians, political scientists, foreign policy experts, students, university professors, lawyers, journalists, political leaders, social activists, and people from different walks of life participated in the Conference. Dr. Fakhar Bilal (Dept. of History, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad) moderated the proceedings of the session.

MUSLIM Institute and Faculty of Oriental Learning, University of the Punjab, Lahore organized 3rd Two Days International Conference on "Mevlana Rumi and Hadrat Sultan Bahoo: Preachers of Human Friendship, Peace, Tolerance and Coexistence in the World" on Thursday - Friday, February 20-21, 2020 at University of the Punjab, Lahore. Scholars and dignitaries from Poland, UK, Iran, USA and Sudan participated and addressed in the Conference. Researchers from all four provinces of Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir participated in the conference as well. A number of people from Sikh Community also participated in the Conference.

MUSLIM Institute and Faculty of Oriental Learning University of the Punjab Lahore in cooperation of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan organized an international conference “Mevlana Rumi & Ha?rat Sultan Bahoo: Message of Love and Co-Existence in Light of Mysticism” on February 19-20, 2019 at University of the Punjab, Lahore. Scholars from Azerbaijan, Canada, India, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey and United Kingdom participated in the conference and presented their papers. Conference was comprised of seven different sessions (Inaugural session, four academic sessions, concluding session and a cultural event of Mystical Music Session).

MUSLIM Institute in collaboration of Dept. of History & Pakistan Studies, Government College University Faisalabad organized the Conference “Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Iqbal's Vision of Pakistan” on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at GC University Faisalabad. Prof. Dr. Nasir Amin (Vice Chancellor, GC University Faisalabad) chaired the inaugural session whereas Sahibzada Sultan Bahadar Aziz (Incharge Programmes, MUSLIM Institute) delivered the Opening Speech. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chawla (Dean, Chairman & Professor, Dept of History & Pakistan Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore) and Mr. Arif Khattak (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Sciences & Humanities National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Chaniot) were guest speakers in the first session. Dr. Abdul Qadir Mushtaq (Chairperson, Dept. of History & Pakistan Studies, GCUF) moderated the proceedings of inaugural session. Sahibzada Sultan Bahadar Aziz chaired the second session of conference. Dr. Abdul Qadir Mushtaq (Chairperson, Depart of History & Pakistan Studies, (GCUF) presented vote of thanks. Dr Umair Mehmood Sidiqui (Assistant Professor, University of Karachi), Prof. Dr. M. Shafique (Dept. of History and Civilization Studies, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan) and Mr. Idrees Azad (International Islamic University, Islamabad) were guest speakers in the second session. Researchers, scholars, students, university professors, lawyers, journalists, social activists and people from different walks of life participated in the conference.

Ms. Maria Rafi (Patron of Pyaam society & Lecturer LBS Dept. University of Lahore) gave the welcoming remarks. Mr. Adnan H. Mr. Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi (Sudan), Prof. Dr. Mehmet Gormez (Turkey) and Mr. Waleed Iqbal (Grand Son of Allama Muhammad Iqbal). In Second session (Iqbal and the World of the Spirit) Prof. Ehsan Akbar (Pakistan), Prof. Dr. Hug Van Skyhawk (Germany), Dr. Alan Godlas (USA), Dr. Suheyl Umar (Pakistan) and Dr. Halim Tanwir (Afghanistan). In third session (Iqbal’s Social and Political Thoughts) Dr. Zaffar Mueen Nasar (Pakistan), Dr. Mahmad Kodabaccus (Mauritius), Mr. Waleed Iqbal, Prof. Dr. Ejaz Akram (Pakistan), Dr. Muhammad Maroof Shah (Indian Held Kashmir) and Dr. Talib Hussain Sial (Pakistan). In fourth session (Iqbal - Art and Thought) Prof. Dr. Hug Van Skyhawk, Dr. Geldimyrat Muhammedov (Turkmenistan), Dr. Saleem Mazhar (Pakistan) and Mr. Idrees Azad (Pakistan). In fifth session (Comparative Study of Iqbal with other Thinkers/ Philosophers) Dr. Suheyl Umar, Dr. Mohammad Baghai Makan (Iran), Mr. Yevhen Reutov (Ukraine) and Dr. Nurali Nurzad (Tajikistan). In sixth session (Payam-e-Iqbal - A Musical Evening)renowned classical singer Ustad Hamid Ali Khan presented the Kalam-e-Iqbal. Dr. Mohammad Baghai Makan (Former Professor, Iran Cultural Heritage, Iran) and Dr. Irina N. Serenko (Russian Academy of Sciences, Russia) shared their views. In seventh session (Iqbal and Present Era) Dr. Mohammad Baghai Makan, Prof. Muhammad Ayub Sabir (Pakistan), Dr. Karim Ahmed Ifrak (France), Dr. Abdushukur Abdusattorov (Tajikistan) and Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui (Pakistan). In eighth session (Iqbal in Global Perspective) Dr. Alan Godlas, Ahmad Mohammad Al Shafi (Sudan), Prof. Piotr K?odkowski (Poland), Dr. Irina N. Serenko (Russia), Dr. Zhou Chuanbin (China) and Dr. Basira Azizaliyeva (Azerbaijan). In the ninth (Concluding Session) H.E. Mr. Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi, H.E. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Gormez, H.E. Mr. Abdirahmaan Dahir Osman (Somalia), Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi (Pakistan) and Dr. Mahmad Kodabaccus, Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali. MUSLIM Institute also organized a Musical Evening Pyam-e-Iqbal which was a side event of the Conference.

It was started with recitation of Holy Quran and Kalam-e-Hadrat Sultan Bahoo and Hadrat Mevlana Rumi was presented at the start of each session. Ambassadors, political and social leaders, scholars, professors, journalists, researchers and university students participated in the conference. At the end of each session, memorabilia shields were also distributed among the honorable guests. Research Associate of MUSLIM Institute, Mr. Usman Hasan moderated the proceedings of the conference.
